Junior World Championships

Funding criteria for the 2022 Junior World Championships to be held in Guayaquil, Ecuador on August 10-13, 2022

  • USA Judo will combine all weight categories on the Junior National Ranking Roster and those ranked in the top six in point totals as of June 25th, 2022 will receive five nights room and board as well as a $500 stipend towards airfare.
    • Room nights are based on double occupancy. Athlete will be responsible for cost difference if single occupancy is requested.
  • Athletes ranked in the top seven through ten will receive five nights room and board.
  • Non funded athletes that compete for a medal are eligible to receive up to $1,000 towards airfare as well as reimbursement for their accommodations.
    • Athlete must win a minimum of three matches, no byes, no walkovers, no round robins.
  • Athletes ranked outside the top six that finish seventh or higher at the 2022 Junior World Championships will receive up to $1,000 towards airfare.
    • Athlete must win a minimum of three matches, no byes, no walkovers, no round robins.

Cadet World Championships

Funding criteria for the 2022 Cadet World Championships to be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 24-28, 2022

  • USA Judo will combine all weight categories on the Cadet National Ranking Roster and those ranked in the top six in point totals as of June 25th, 2022 will receive five nights room and board as well as a $500 stipend towards airfare.
    • Room nights are based on double occupancy. Athlete will be responsible for cost difference if single occupancy is requested.
  • Athletes ranked in the top seven through ten will receive five nights room and board.

Graz junior European Cup

Funding criteria for the 2022 Graz Junior European Cup to be held in Graz, Austria on June 4-5, 2022

  • Athletes ranked in the top five point total across all weight categories on the USA Judo Junior National Roster dated April 18, 2022 will have their housing paid for by USA Judo as well as a $500 stipend towards airfare. These athletes also will be eligible to receive up to an additional $500 in airfare reimbursement for a placement in the top five in the athlete’s individual weight category at the Junior European Cup.
  • Any athlete ranked outside the top five point total on the National Roster referenced above will be eligible for a reimbursement of airfare (up to $1,000) and housing expenses if he or she places in the top five in his or her weight category at the Junior European Cup. 

Please Note: In addition to funded athletes, all age eligible athletes are eligible to participate in the event. 


Coimbra Cadet European Cup

Funding criteria for the 2022 Cadet Portugal European Cup to be held in Coimbra, Portugal on May 28-29, 2022

  • Athletes ranked in the top five point total across all weight categories on the USA Judo Cadet National Roster dated April 18, 2022 will have their housing paid for by USA Judo as well as a $500 stipend towards airfare. These athletes also will be eligible to receive up to an additional $500 in airfare reimbursement for a placement in the top five in the athlete’s individual weight category at the Cadet European Cup.
  • Any athlete ranked outside the top five point total on the National Roster referenced above will be eligible for a reimbursement of airfare (up to $1,000) and housing expenses if he or she places in the top five in his or her weight category at the Cadet European Cup



Junior Pan American Championships

Funding criteria for the 2022 Cadet/Junior Pan American Championships to be held in Lima, Peru on April 9-10, 2022

  • The top 5 athletes, with the highest total points throughout all weight classes, in the IJF-Junior and Cadet categories on the USA Judo National roster at the conclusion of the 2022 Youth National Championships will receive 5 days (4/6/2022 – 4/10/2022) room and board at the 2022 Cadet/Junior Pan American Championships.
  • For any Junior athlete that that also qualifies for the Senior Pan American Championships, room and board will be provided between the two events.
  • Any IJF athletes’ placing gold or silver, will be reimbursed up to the following:
    • $1,000.00 – Gold Medal
    • $750.00 - Silver Medal
