    USA Judo is responsible for hosting four national events annually and sanctioning 150 regional and local events with a focus on growing the sport of judo in the United States.

    The events coordinator supports the operation and administration of USA Judo’s national office with a focus on regional and local events’ sanctioning from bid submission to post-event reporting as well as providing operational support at USA Judo’s four national events. The ideal candidate will be customer-service and process-oriented as well as well-organized with the ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment. This position reports to the Events and Technology Manager and works closely with the entire national office staff.

    • Process and track sanctioned event requests according to standard operating policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with sanctioned events requirements, including pre and post event enforcement and documentation.
    • Maintain accurate reports pertaining to event participants, revenue and other data analytics as requested by management.
    • Build and strengthen trusting relationships with event organizers.
    • Learn how to use Smoothcomp Tournament Software to assist event organizers with setup and use. Issue, track and bill back Smoothcomp software credits.
    • Primary contact for calls and emails from event organizers.
    • Become an expert in day-to-day administration of event data and related operations included in the membership database.
    • Create and further develop efficiencies with the sanctioned events process.
    • Assist with national event-related duties to include, but not be limited to, hotel and event logistics, credentialing, registration, set up and changes, weigh ins and overall operations.
    • Other projects as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
    • Experience in athletic administration or event administration preferred.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute competing assignments.
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise sound independent judgment.
    • Experience with database management, processes and computer-generated reporting preferred.
    • Strong professionalism, verbal, written and listening skills.
    • Creative thinker and innovative, solutions-based problem solver.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse identities and provide impeccable customer service.
    • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including weekends as needed.
    • Essential computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook.
    • Confidentiality of information a must.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a USA Judo background screen and complete SafeSport training.

    Starting Salary Range

    • $18-20/hour (commensurate with experience)
    • Occasional overtime available
