Corinne Shigemoto to Depart USA Judo as Director of Events and Member Services

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – After nearly 16 years as a member of the National Office staff, Corinne Shigemoto (Elgin, Texas) has stepped down from her role as director of events. Her final day overseeing the member services department will be June 8.

An alternate to the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team and four-time National Champion, Corinne joined the USA Judo National Office in 2006. In addition to leading the events and membership departments, Shigemoto also held the role of chief operating officer from 2012-2018. Previously, she also served as chair of Coach Development and Education Committee.

“Corinne has been an integral part of the USA Judo community for decades and her impact on the sport of judo and National Officemade her an important member of our team,” said USA Judo CEO Keith Bryant. “We will all miss everything that Corinne has brought to our organization, events staff and our sport as a whole and are appreciative of all her hard work. We wish her the best in the future.”

A nationwide search for the USA Judo membership and events departments will begin in the coming weeks.
