Colorado Springs, CO (Feb. 11, 2026) – The USA Judo Board of Directors held a special meeting on February 10, 2026, to address the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee's recent report on the compliance investigation to determine whether USA Judo promotes a culture free from retaliation, in compliance with its obligations as a national governing body.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the following actions were approved by the Board:

  • Nicole Stout-Berliner was removed from the Board of Directors and from all USA Judo governance duties for a period of 10 years
  • Joe Ragan was removed from the Board of Directors and from all USA Judo governance duties for a period of 10 years
  • Gerry Navarro was issued a letter of censure, is required to enroll in courses on good governance to be completed at the discretion of the board, and was removed from all USA Judo committees

“I appreciate the time and effort the USOPC took to interview so many concerned USA Judo members," said Board Chair Dr. Ron Tripp. "I believe the actions taken by the Board were ones that clearly indicate USA Judo will not stand for anyone getting in the way of good faith reporting of policy violations. I am also proud of the work USA Judo has performed since the filing of these complaints to ensure athletes have the best possible NGB to assist in making their dreams come true. It is the responsibility of all of us to come together professionally and collaboratively to continue this trajectory.”
