New Coach Renewal Process for 2026
Dear USA Judo Coaches,
The renewal window for 2026 coach certifications is officially open. This year's renewal process will look a little different as Pat Burris, after many years of service to USA Judo, has stepped down as the director of coaching.
For 2026, all new and returning coaches must submit their coaching applications online through their USA Judo profile. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.
As USA Judo and the Coach Education Committee continue developing a new coach education model, which will be in place January 2027, all coach certifications will be issued for a one-year term, expiring on December 31, 2026, at your current level. There will be no upgrades in 2026.

The video below provides step-by-step instructions on how to submit your application. Please note that the background screening, SafeSport, and concussion training must be current and completed in your profile before your coaching application can be approved.
