IBSA Para World Championships

Over 500 athletes from 40 countries around the world met in Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete at the 2019 IBSA Judo and Goalball International Qualifiers.

The tournament gave judo athletes world championship-level qualifying points towards the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Congratulations to the following athletes who placed:

• Cindy Simon – 5^th
• Robert Tanaka – 5^th
• Ben Goodrich – 5^th
• Robert Anderson – 5^th
• Marissa Arndt – 5^th
• Maria Liana Mutia – 5^th

Team USA also competed in the Team tournament and were happy to take an historic silver medal on home soil.

“I think everybody feels good that we were able to get a medal as a team, show that we have some good judo, some good techniques, some strong competitors that are out there to fight,” said Ben Goodrich.
