Follonica Cadet European Judo Cup

With 37 athletes in the 52kg weight class, Noran Elmahroukey placed 7^th at the 2019 Follonica Cadet Cup in Italy on February 9^th! She went 3-2 for the day finishing with all ippons.

In the elimination rounds, Elmahroukey won her first match against AUT by two wazari for an Ippon, but fell short to WRL #1 ITA in her second match, sending her into repechage.

In repechage, Noran came out on top against NED, winning by two wazari for ippon. Up next she faced BIH, where she won again by two wazari for ippon. In her final match, Elmahroukey faced FRA, but lost by 2 wazari for ippon.

"Considering today was the first international competition that Noran has moved up to her new weight class of 52kg, she had a good day with some very strong wins!” explained coach, Chris Skelley. “Today Noran had 3 wins for ippon and her 2 loses were to the Gold medalist and number one in the World; and her other lose was to the eventual bronze Medalist from FRA.”
