    Team USA wins 10 medals at the Para-Pan American Championships in Brazil!

    USA Medalist:

    Ron Hawthorne (60kg) - GOLD
    Liana Mutia (57kg) - GOLD
    Robert Tanaka (66kg) - SILVER
    Ricky Ties (90kg) - SILVER
    Ben Goodrich (100kg) - SILVER
    Kevin Brousard (+100kg) - SILVER
    Marissa Arndt (57kg) - SILVER
    Katie Davis (+70kg) - SILVER
    Robert Alcorn (73kg) - BRONZE
    Adnan Gutic (81kg) - BRONZE

    Fight Details:

    • 2012 Paralympian Ron Hawthorne wins his first Pan American title in the 60kg division, going 3-0 on the day and defeating longtime nemesis Justin Karn of Canada.
    • 18 year old Liana Mutia also won a gold medal. This is Liana's first major international outing, and she went 2-0 in the women's 57kg division.
    • 17 year old Robert Tanaka went 3-1 to win silver in the men's 73kg division.  His only loss came to Paralympian Eduardo Guato of Argentina.
    • Ricky Ties finished 2nd in the men's 90kg division.
    • Ben Goodrich finished 2nd in the men's 100kg division, losing a controversial match to 4 time Paralympic gold medalist, Tenorio Silva.
    • Kevin Brousard finished 2nd in the men's heavyweight division.
    • Marissa Arndt followed Liana with a silver in the women's 57kg division going 2-2.
    • Katie Davis defeated multiple time Paralympian Deann Almeida by ippon in the women's +70kg division, but lost to newcomer Rebeca Silva, finishing 2nd.
    • Robbie Alcorn finished 3rd in the men's 73kg divisions
    • Adnan Gutic finished 3rd in the men's 81kg division.
