2026 Senior Pan American / Oceania Championships Team Selection Procedures
The 2026 Senior Pan American Championships are scheduled to take place in a location to be confirmed (TBC) from April 17–18, 2026. The U.S. team will be composed of 18 athletes—9 men and 9 women—selected based on the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Ranking List (WRL), which includes all results through Monday, March 9, 2026 (including the 2026 Upper Austria Grand Prix).
Selections will be made by identifying the top 9 male and top 9 female athletes with the highest point totals on the IJF WRL. All selections will be based on the number of accrued points per weight division, not on overall ranking position. Points will be considered only within each athlete’s respective weight category; points earned across multiple categories will not be combined.
Selections are subject to current eligibility rules set by the IJF and the Panamerican Judo Confederation (PJC). Should these organizations update their eligibility requirements, USA Judo reserves the right to revise the team selection criteria accordingly.
In the event of a withdrawal, the next highest-ranked eligible athlete based on the WRL will be selected, provided the category has an available slot. A maximum of two athletes may be selected per weight category. If a category already has two athletes, no additional athletes will be considered for that category unless one of the selected athletes withdraws. This process will continue until all 9 male and 9 female team positions are filled.
The athletes selected through this process will represent the United States at the 2026 Senior Pan American Championships.
